Linking tables in the Relationships screen

I am fairly new to Access. I have been having trouble
linking a table to another table in the Relationships area.
They were linked in the past. Somehow they became
unlinked. Then I tried to link them again, saved it and
exited out. Then I went back in and the link was gone. I
don't know what is happening. I am using Access 97, and
no one here seems to know why this is happening. Could it
be a bug, or user error!?

Do you have a separate Front End and Back End?
Tables should be linked in the Back End.

Have you tried 'Show All'?

When you go to 'Help', 'About', does the second
line show that you are using SR-2? (If not, you
need to apply the SR-2 patch).

If all else fails, create a new database, and
import all the objects from the old database into
the new database.
