Linking to a running windows application

Rather than include a screen shot of an application window, which has
just static information, I would like to be able to link to a live
running application from within a presentation so that when the
particular slide displays it shows the active window of the
application.
The application is not a Microsoft application
Anyone know if that is possible, if so how?

Geoff,

Draw an auto shape (say a rectangle)

Right click it.....choose "action settings"

Choose 'mouse click' - "Run program"
Browse to the program you want to run.

OK

Then during a slideshow click your rectangle and that will tell powerpoint to call up the other program ready for a live
demo.

Or start the program before you start powerpoint....then Alt-TAB (on the keyboarD) during a slideshow to the program
that is already running

Many thanks, but what I should have added is that I need to be able to
do this from within a continuously running slideshow.
So Alt-Tab is not an option and neither is clicking the mouse.

Thanks

Then it sounds like you probably want to capture a movie of the session of
your running application and insert it into the presentation. See
TechSmith's Camtasia or Hyperionics' Hypercam. Either will capture a video
of your screen while you run an application session.
