I have two Excel files, one linked via query (Import External Data) to
the second file, which is set up for sharing. The problem is that the
first file does not play nice with others. When it accesses the shared
file (Refresh data), it prevents people actively sharing the file from
saving their changes.
Here is the query:
Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Password="";User ID=Admin;Data
Source=**deleted for privacy**;Mode=Share Deny Write;Extended
Properties="HDR=YES;";Jet OLEDB:System database="";Jet OLEDB:Registry
Path="";Jet OLEDB
atabase Password="";Jet OLEDB:Engine Type=35;Jet
OLEDB
atabase Locking Mode=0;Jet OLEDB:Global Partial Bulk Ops=2;Jet
OLEDB:Global Bulk Transactions=1;Jet OLEDB:New Database Password="";Jet
OLEDB:Create System Database=False;Jet OLEDB:Encrypt Database=False;Jet
OLEDB
on't Copy Locale on Compact=False;Jet OLEDB:Compact Without
Replica Repair=False;Jet OLEDB:SFP=False
Is there a parameter in here (the "Mode" perhaps) that can be editted
so the query accesses the second file without interferring with the
sharing? (I don't know much about these parameters and I'm hesitant to
mess with them!)
Thanks!
