Linking to network Excel data

[Duhhh]

Can anyone tell me how to link to Excel data on a remote
machine and get updates in real time? I have Excel
running on one machine on the network. As data is entered
on that machine, I want to have the powerpoint slide
running on my machine to display the data as soon as it
is updated. I can do this on one machine and it works,
but I haven't been able to figure out how to get the
update to happen when Excel and Powerpoint are on
different computers. The updates happen too fast to do a
save of the Exel file and then update the link from
within Powerpoint.
