links, hyperlink, action buttons not working

In Power Point under Insert, the Links set of buttons are not active, that
is, I can not use them to set up a Hyerlink. Please send reply asap.

You have to have something selected (either an object or text) for those
buttons to be active. Then they will set the link to happen when you
click on the thing that was selected.

Make sure you have some text or a graphic selected that you wish to use to
create the hyperlink.
