Links not shown in Sowrd 2007

I just installed Office 2007 and I am having some problems with word. When I
open a document I do not see certain text like the table contents or index
shows up as just a line of some garbled text. And some links also show up as
some garbled text. This happens only in Pint Layout. If I change it to Full
Screen Reading it all shows fine. But on other computers it shows fine on
Print Layout also. Why does this happen only on my computer with Print
Layout.
Please could anyone let me know as this is really uprgent as I have loads of
work pilled up because of this.
Thanks
Joel

Do the printer drivers have anything to do with the Print Layout in word 2007
? If so how do I know which printer driver is curropt and how do I change or
re install it ? If I change the default printer will this make a difference
as I use about 4 diffrerent printers on my machine.

Press Alt+F9 to toggle view from field codes (what you're seeing) to field

I'm always amused by the variation in description of (a) field codes, (b)
documents opened in Recover Text from Any File mode, and (c) lost "white
space." It always amazes me how people jump to the conclusion that something
is "code" but how many of them then extrapolate this to "HTML,"
unnecessarily complicating the issue (it's obvious that they don't know what
HTML looks like). Or sometimes they say it must be a macro (or "marco").

All of which just underlines how difficult it is to describe something
unfamiliar and incomprehensible. Along the same lines, my husband just
called the cable company to report reception problems. I came in on the
middle of the conversation, when he was describing the wavy lines that are
completely obscuring the picture, as if it were underwater. He evidently got
put on hold and turned to me to quote, sotto voce, from the previous
exchange: "You say the picture looks like cr*p. Could you be a little more
specific?" <g>
