Using powerpoint/excel 2007. I have presentations which have several links
to excel graphs, all graph sheets, and kept in one workbook. When opening
the presentation, it asks if I want to update links or not, but even if I
click 'Cancel' (i.e. not to update links), it does it anyway. This then
locks the presentation up for nearly 10mins whilst it goes through each chart
updating the links. Of course, if the excel file is open at the same time,
then it updates the links far quicker, but this is not an ideal workaround,
especially when presenting out of the office.
This did not happen in the old version of ppt/excel. I have tried setting
the links to 'manual' instead of automatic, but it still tries updating the
links whether you want it to or not.
How can I stop this happening? Grateful for any help.
