List of Fields that I have used

Hi,

I use a lot of "Text 1, Text 2, Text 3" field and I forget
which ones I used. In order for me to remember, I have to
go to my views, hover over the column that I used
the "Text" field for (that I have since changed the name)
and then write it down on a separate document to keep
track. There must be a way for me to see which Text
fields have already been taken. Please lead me to
the "cheese" as this mouse is tired of searching...

Mona --

Here's an idea. Why don't you create a custom task Table that contains the
ID and Task Name columns, plus all of the custom Text fields that you are
currently using? Then, when you need to know which fields are in use, and
what they are currently named, you can simply apply this Table in any task
view.

To create this Table, do the following:

1. Apply any task View
2. Click View - Table - More Tables...
3. Select the Entry table and click Copy...
4. Name the new Table something like "Custom Text Fields" and select "Show
in menu"
5. Delete all fields except the ID and the Name fields
6. Insert each of the custom Text fields that you are using
7. Click OK and then click Close

Any time you want to see your current list of Text fields, simply apply this
table. When you start using a new Text field, simply add the field to this
Table. Hope this helps.

Hello Mouse - hope this is the cheese you are looking
for... Tools>Customise>Fields Now check you are editing
the correct fields here - resource or task fields - then
just select "Text1" and rename it. In your views, the
chosen name now appears

Don't forget that you'll need a different table for Resources and another
for Assignment views.

The easy way is to double click on an activity. Then in the Task information
box that pops up, choose the customized fields tab.
