list of rejected task updates

Hi All,

I have a customer which wants to know at the end of the month, where there
are rejected task updates. This way, they can check if there are any hours
pending for month reporting and go after them.
I have looked in the database (assignment_transactions), but it is giving me
a headache. Anyone have dealt with this before with good solution?

I don't believe you will find these hours in a nice and neat manner. I also
don't think this data exists in the reporting database. You might find
something in the published database but querying that db is not supported.

Also, the data will not be laid out in a nice time phased manner. I found
that only hours that have gone through the complete approval and
re-publishing process actually show up in an easy to query state. A lot of
the in between states seem to be in binary format.

Produce a report based around planned work vs actual work. This will show
you the variance. Adopt of policy in which PM are directed to process task
updates at a specified period.

Hi Jonathan,

In fact, they don't really need the number of hours, but just a list of
resources which have rejected task updates. With this info, they can contact
the resource to correct and resubmit the updates to the PM.
I know digging in the published database is not supported, I'm just trying
to deal with the customers request. And if the answer is no, then they have
to live with it.

Hi Paul,

This would be a good way of working, I hope I can sell this to them. Little
bit afraid of the planning capabilities of the PM's, but it should be ok.

Add the profile to one machine, then export the regkey
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\MS Project\Profiles

Push this reg file out to the clients through group policy, sms or similar.
