Listbox and command button don't appear in form view

Please help:
Access 2007
I have tabbed control
Each tab has a similar listbox and a command button
All list boxes and command buttons appear in design view.
When I switch to Form view, the click on the 1st tab, neither the
listbox or commandbutton are visible.

I added an unbound text box to Tab1's form, an unbound label, and a
rectangle. (Just to see if they would show up.) None of the controls I
added displayed when in form view.

I could change the background color of the form, but that was it.

I checked the following properties for the controls:
visible:YES
display:ALWAYS
(since the controls are in the detail section)
detail:VISIBLE/ON
I've also compressed/repair the file a few times.

Any thoughts as to what might be going on, or suggestions for running?
some diagnostics?
THANKS!

THANKS YOU so much! I've been pulling my hair out all weekend trying
to figure out where my controls went.

Sorry, the line

New records can be added

should read

New records ***cannot be*** added
THANKS!
