Lists and displaying data

Hope you guys can help me here

I have a list in Excel which shows

SIC Code Sales Engineer Responsible Postcode
(header)
Food & Beverage John Smith BD
Petrochemical Alan Smith LS
Food & Beverage John Brown BD
Telecomms Chris Smith LS
Telecomms Joe Bloggs HG

All I want to see is the Header which I can have a drop down option so
that I can say select the SIC Code and if I select BD it will display
who is responsible?

Try as I might with a List it does work but it displays the list and
all I want to see is the header. So I tried to put the list on
another sheet and link the header to anothe sheet and could not do it
either, any help is greatly appreciated.

Why not just apply Data|filter|autofilter to the columns in your list?

Then filter on Postcode to show BD and you'll see your data.

Yeah I thought about that but thought it looked naff, if thats the
only solution then I will go with it, but then would need to protect
the data so no one can mess with it but still allow the filter option,
is that possible?
