loading Office XP on a machine with 2007 trial software

Although I have loaded Office XP onto the new computer since my trial period
ended for 2007, I cannot get past the 2007 pop ups? My office products do
not run because it wants me to purchase 2007. ??

Uninstall Office XP and the Office 2007 Trial and then re-install Office XP again.

In addition to what Peter said, presumably this is a vista machine.
Your Office 2002 will run OK except that you will have problems with Outlook
passwords.
