Loading problems

Our office seems to be having trouble when word is opened.
It takes about 2-10 minutes for Word to actually open up.
We thought it might have to do with our last Norton
AntiVirus update but lately removing that hasnt even
worked. Any suggestions? Thank you

Have you applied all the latest patches and Service Packs for your version
of Office? What version of Windows are you running? If its Windows 2000 or
XP, its possible that some unnecessary services are running in the back
ground that might cause Word to slow down. Also, is this occuring with any
other Office application or applications on your computer?

I have installed all the latest patches and Service packs
and still getting the following problems. When trying to
open a document in Word the programme then hangs (in the
task manager it says it is Not Responding). If you let it
hang for about 5 - 10 minutes the document will finally
be opened. If you have ended the task (via the Task
manager) before the document has opened and then try to
open the document again all the formatting has been lost.
If you then choose not to save changes and close the
document and reopen (waiting the 5 - 10 mins) the
document will be opened with all formatting in place.
Any light on this problem would be greatly appreciated.
