Loading Project Plan Error

When trying to save an update to a project plan in MS Project 2007 Pro that
was opened from Project Centre on a Project 2007 Server I get the following
error:

The file could not be opened
-Check that the file name and path are correct.
- Check that the file format is recognised by project

Project Files saved in a version earlier than Microsoft Project 98 can't be
opened.

This project was previously published and multiple saves to have been done
over a number of weeks.

Hi!

I had that same problem a few days ago, from what I've serched that
was a bug in Project 2002 but was soved with Service Pack 1.

Here you can at least see what caused the problem: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/817271

In my case the problem was automatically solved after opening the file
for a few times and saving information.

Thanks. The only way I could get around it was to save the project plan
locally and then republish over the top. Not the best method but it allowed
me to make saves to the project plan on the server

Hi Dan,

How did you repushed the plan?

The only way I know to republish is deleting and then publishing the
plan again which brings a lot of ploblems!

Can you tell me another way?

I'm having the same problem again.
