Loading up Word 2000 freezes the computer

I have the same problem as Becky and am worried it may be
a virus
Does anyone have any solution to this problem - I notice
that when the computer freezes the clock on screem botton
RHS also seems to stiop , but does continue very slowly to
move on
I don't think this is a resources problem as like Becky
the memory is only 50% used when I start to load up
