local vs. global project servers

Question about Local vs. Global Project Server install:

Does anyone know when replication software will become available for Project
Server, and is installing Project Server in 5 sites across the globe a
practical solution to prevent latency and still keep some form of global
consolidation of data a possibility?

I'm not sure when/if multi-site replication functionality will be supported
within the tool, however if latency is causing you problems, then you can
always use terminal services.

I did some testing between NZ and the US over a 8Mb ADSL line and the results
for large projects where not that impressive, though light years better than
2003.

A plan with approx 100 lines was taking 15-20 secs to open (with an up to
date cache). With no cache it was taking about 1 min.

I could live with this anything up to 1min, however larger plan 500 lines +
where taking considerably longer with/without a cached copy. For me this was
completely unusable.

That's fairly high and certainly a factor too. Project Hosts is hosting
solutions for AU customers quite successfully. We've come a long way with
this version..
