Locale problem

Office 2003 SP2

Lithunian long date format looks: 2006 m. sausio 5 d.
Regional settings configured that way, but in office (word, excel) i get
2006 m. sausis 5 d. (last two letters of month name). Same problem is in all
month names: vasario - vasaris, kovo - kovas and etc. (Different gramar case).

OpenOffice doesn't have this problem. So, how can I change month names in
Office?

I know nothing of Lithuanian but there are few, if any, facilities in Office
for adjusting cases and genders.

I can understand frustration with this issue and I have no doubt it will
change in time as Microsoft (and others) improve the internationalisation in
their products; meanwhile I think you will just have to be patient.

But maybe there is posibility to create new customized locale with correct
case? It's simple - need to change 12 words. Or maybe it's possible to use
winxp regional settings?

BTW, in Office 2000, date format is correct.

Hi Vikas,
But maybe there is posibility to create new customized locale with correct
case?

Many things may be possible but I'm not aware of the possibility for a
customized locale.

You could try asking in microsoft.public.word.international.features - it's
not a very busy newsgroup but you may find someone there with specialist
knowledge in this area.
BTW, in Office 2000, date format is correct.

Interesting.
