Locating Key from custom install cd

M

Mark Sandbothe

Hi all - I've created an MS Office XP installtion cd with SP2. I used the
answer wizard to setup user names and installation options so that the
install would simply run through. I also used the program to preenter the cd
key.

I've since lost the cd key though the install program does not require me to
enter it. However, I do need to recover teh actual key. Is there anyway I
can recover it from a file on the cd.

If it matters, this is a volume license cd key and I could get it from work
(they have records) but I won't be able to get a hold of them for a couple
weeks and I need it know.

Thanks in advance.

Mark

you can use aida32 which will be able to do more for you than just recover
officexp keycodes on a machine with officexp installed

Well, I tried the 'jellybean' solution, which only gives
me the product key for the operating system (which
curiously doesn't match the product key on my COA...) I
need the product key for an early trial offer Microsoft
Small Business. The keys being handed out now won't work,
software saying they are 'invalid.' This is small
business Version 10.0.2627.01, installed Mar 2003 (just
bought my Compaq 2568CL Jan. 04... missing application
software disk which should have had the PID for the small
business trial...

Please enlighten my poor ignorant soul... how do I use
aida32 to recover office xp key codes?

Download aida32 from www.aida32.hu unzip int a directory
and run aid32 then chose the software/licenses from the
tree and it will show you all the licenses for the
microsoft products ie the install keys out of the registry.

run aida32.exe, look in the licenses section, you should see
officexp/windows/ie/& any other licensed programs

Hey everyone,
I just wanted to let you know there is a site that may be of some use. A
lot of people who work with Novell products, and are VERY good with
implementations and troubleshooting, frequent the site. You can find it at:

Just downloaded and ran Aida - what an awesome program - not only did it
solve my problem - but is the sleekest sysinfo tool I've used.

I love it

Thanks again!
