Where is the file location of contacts in the users
profile at?

All data (mail, calendar, contacts, tasks, notes, etc...) are stored in the
same pst-file.

Make sure you include hidden and system files and folders when searching for
pst-file.

By default it is located in
C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\

You can also locate the file by using
Rightclick the root folder (probably Outlook Today)-> Properties-> button
Advanced-> field Filename

relocate this? even if it's a registry hack?

You're welcome!

Just move the file when Outlook is closed. It will then prompt you for the
new location.
