Location of FP Banner Images

Mike

Can anyone tell me where FP stores the banner images that
it creates when you use one of their templates to create
your site. I right clicked on one and it said its
location was:

_derived/wsbkl.htm_cmp_blank3000_bnr.gif

I can't find this GIF file in my web.

Thanks,

Mike

The _derived folder is hidden; FrontPage doesn't display
it even if you choose Tools, Site Settings, Advanced, and
select Show Hidden Files And Folders. That's because
you're not supposed to mess with it.

To extract a particular file, either:

1. Browse a page that contains the picture you want.
2. Right-click the picture and choose Save Picture As.

or go in through the file system and copy the file out of
there. (Don't make any changes that way, though.)

That is the correct location.
There will be a _derived folder in every folder containing a page with a
banner.
The _derived folders are never visible in FrontPage, but may be seen - do
not edit the contents - using Windows Explorer (local) or an FTP program
(remote). (Note that improper use of Windows Explorer or FTP may damage FP
extensions).

Does what mean "that I can't create my own GIF's to
replace the ones FP created?"?

If this is a response to a previous post I have no idea as to what you are
responding to - it is normal to quote something from the previous post, and
to respond in the same thread.
