If you want to lock down the default method of tracking so that project
managers cannot change it on each individual project, your Project Server
administrator should do the following:
1. Log into PWA with administrator permissions
2. Click Admin - Customize Project Web Access
3. In the Lock down defaults section, select the "Force project managers to
use..." option
4. Click the Save Changes button
If you want to allow each PM to select his/her own method of tracking on a
project by project basis, then each PM should do the following for each
project:
1. Open a project
2. Click Tools - Customize - Published Fields
3. Select the method of tracking
4. Click OK
5. If the project was previously published, click Collaborate - Publish -
Republish Assignments and click OK
6. Repeat this process for every project he/she manages
I would not recommend you choose the latter course of action, however, as it
will only lead to confusion among team members about how to enter actuals
for each method of tracking. It makes their world way too complicated and
we simply do not recommend this approach. Hope this helps.
