lock presentation for editing from viewer?

I want to lock my powerpoint presentation so that when I email it, the viewer
wouldn't be able to edit it.

You need to add a password to modify.

You didn't mention the version you have.

2002/3 Tools > Options> Security
2007 Save As > Tools dropdown > General
