Can someone help? I was mucking around with visual basic which I've never
done before (bit of a novice) and assigned a module to a combo box's
RowSourceType and the database just shut down and now I can't open it at all
and it's got a linked table to another database which I can't modify now. It
saved a backup copy of the database for me when the error occured which I've
been continuing work on, but now that I want to add a field into the table
which is linked, it says it's a read only table and I can't modify it. I
think this has something to do with a message saying "The database has been
placed in a state by user 'Admin' on machine 'so&so' that prevents it from
being opened or locked" when I try to open the broken one. The directory
which holds the actual database files now also has two "Microsoft Office
Access Record-Locking Information" files in it (one for each database linked
by the table) which I'm sure has something to do with all this. I hit the
help button but this didn't help - ironic. The Error No. is 3734. If anyone
knows how I can open/unlock this broken database so I can just delete it and
resume with the back up one, please let me know. P.S. Sorry about the long
winded request.
