Locked projects in MS Project Server 2002

We have project managers that tend to keep their projects open all day. Is there a time out period or disconnect if the project is kept open without any activity. The reason I ask is because we seem to have many projects that get 'locked' for no good reason

Thanks

One way to solve your issue is by checking in projects
To check in a project, log in as Administrator and under the 'Admin' tab, select 'Check in enterprise projects'
Select projects from the list and check in

It is also recommended to inform the Project Manager before you check in a project

Hope this help

Manually Checking in a project can cause data to be lost. You would be
better off calling them and asking them to check the project back in.

If you check in a project that is checked out, the user that has the project
checked out can't save changes after you check it in. That user can only
save their changes as a new project schedule!

Generally, it's not a good idea to leave projects open all day. Each user
puts their work at risk by doing this whether it's a Word document or an
open connection to a database such as Project Server. The procedure for
doing this is to take a project offline. Teach you users how to use this
feature. The cause of your lockouts is likely to be found on your network.
