Locking Cells

In Windows versions of Excel when you want to lock a column or row
both or either you can click on the cell in the formula bar and hit F4
to toggle through the different locks. How can this be done in Office
2004?

F4 doesn't "lock" columns or rows (cells are locked using
Format/Cells/Protection), but it does toggle cell references between
absolute and relative mode.

If you look in XL Help ("Keyboard shortcuts") you'd find:

CMD+T Toggle the formula reference style between
absolute, relative, and mixed
