I had contact with your colleagues and we found solutions partially but I
want to ask if there is an improvement with Access2003. With Access2000 and
SQL views, it was common to get locks in the SQL database during the fetch of
records from the form. This was preventing the users to do updates , when
another user was searching.
This happens
a) when the form is in filter mode, it seems to locking the tables despite
the fact no search is yet taking place
b)during fetching of the records. I used GOFIRST, GOLAST to force to finish
the retrieve.
c) when doing order asc, desc on the form. I had to dissallow sorting on
forms to get over this one.
Is there a solution to this behaviour with Access 2003, or anyother ideas
you may have.
