I have been updating my website which has front page extensions put on by the host. When I open my website on the internet I just have been clicking file and then edit w/microsoft front page, then a log on box comes up and I am on my way. Now all of a sudden the log in box is not coming up. I have been updating like this for the past year., when I talk to my provider they are of no help, please help.

What happen when you use FP and access the site directly via File Menu | Open Web and enter your
URL?

I am very much a novice at this, but I tried to go into front page and access it that way, but it said I don't have permissions, not sure if that answered your question or not

Then contact your host to find out what Operating System the server is running. if Unix/Linux, you
will need to upgrade to FP2000 or newer.

I am running FP 2002, it has been working fine for me. My host is being of no help. I have tried to go in from front page directly but to no avail, it keeps telling me I don't have permission, yet I can find no where to log in with my user name and password. I am thinking of contacting microsoft directly but it seems expensive and over kill, but I need to have this resolved. I contacted someone else who runs front page and they where able to get in with the log in box. This is so frustrating, I am sure there is a setting changed somewhere but I am not sure where to begin looking. Any help you could offer would be great. Thanks

I am running fp2002, so I don't know what has happened, I have tried to go in from front page directly but I get an error message that says I don't have permission yet I don't get any where to log in. I had someone else try and the log in box came up for them, so I don't know what to do. I am thinking of contacting microsoft directly but that is expensive and maybe over kill, but I can't get this resolved. Any information you can provide would be great. Thanks

If you host will not help you, the only option is to move to another web host, as no one, not even
MS can help when the issue is a permissions issue on the hosted server, only the host can fix this
issue.

When I try and open the site in FrontPage, I get a log in box (to enter the
username and password), and according to:
http://www.dawgfish.com/_vti_inf.html the page in your site containing the
FP Server Extensions configuration information, your site is running version
5.0.2.2623 of the server extensions.

Has something changed recently on your PC or with your internet connection?
