Login Failed. Could not connect to server

Hello, just all of a suden our project pro clients stoped connecting
to the server.
Errors are
WinProj.PreReadProject."><error id="42"
name="GeneralUnhandledException"
Then we got that to stop but still we get
Login Failed. Could not connect to server
followed by a password box, site and user... are correct.
Just won't connect.?
Any help,

Have you tried rebooting the front end server as a first step? Can you
connect to PWA?
