Login problems

Hello,

I wonder if anyone can help. I have Windows 2000 Server installed on my
laptop with a copy of Project Server 2000 installed.

When my laptop is docked (and connected to the internal network), even
though I logon locally it DOES allow me to login into the Project Server
database with the correct login and password via PWA or Project Pro.

However when I undock I cannot get logged in thorugh Project Web Access or
Project Pro, even though the installation was installed locally on my PC.
All the user settings groups etc seem OK, so I am at a loss to explain this.

Strangely even when our Sever is down, the login scenarios above still give
the same results !!

I can't figure out whats going on - can anyone help or give me some pointers
please?

Thanks

Gary

Gary:

Is your laptop server installation a member of the domain? Is it possible
that the server on your laptop requires the presence of a domain controller
for authentication?

Hi Gary,

No, its running standalone, and I have had Project Server running on this
before - just seems like one day weh I was in the Office I docked the laptop
(just fo r convenience) and booted my machine (although I am was not logging
on to the corporate domain, I was still logging in under the local machine
account).

Thereafter Project Server won't work - if I plug in a network cable to the
laptop it'll work, even if the SERVER is down. Seems like it just needs to
be connected to the network to work, even if the server is not running, and
even though I am not logging onto the corporate network, just locally.

Weird !

I thought it might just be a loopback probelm (clutching at straws now!)
with the network connector - so I plugged in a network cable (that wasn't
attached to anything) - that didn't work either. So I'm stumped and
baffled.

Any ideas would be gratefully accepted !

Regards

Gary
