I have Project Sever installed and working fine. Now I have new users that
aren´t in the same domain where project is installed.

Is it posible to login using something like: DOMAIN\username ?????
Like OWA does.

Thanks in advance,

Fernando

Fernando,

I can access Web Access in this method by inputting the domain\username and
then password, but I cannot connect to the project server through project
2003 in this method. Did you find a solution for this?

Thanks,
Derek

The same happends to me, I can access PWA with domain\username but only if I
configure IIS with "Windows Authentication", but that makes impossible to
users from outside the domain (where project server is installed) to access
Project Proffesion 2003, furthermore only users logged with a domain account
can access project profesional 2003.

Please let me know if you find a solutions,

Thanks,

Fernando

Haven't found one yet...

It's a major annoyance too, we're an office-less company, so everyone is on
different networks/configs at home. We use Exchange and Outlook just fine
through the VPN this way, I don't understand why Project wouldn't work as
well.

I'll post here if I find something...

Thanks,
Derek

I finally could log with Project Proffesional!, try this:

When you type the Project Server URL in Enterprise Options->Microsoft
Project Server Accounts.....

write the username/password info within the URL
ex:

http://domain:@myps.com/projectserver

and select "User Project Server Account"

Then save and close Project Professional, open it again and it will request
that you make the site trusted, do that, and then an authentication dialog
will show up, type you username/password (domain\username) and finally the
Project Server log on will show up.

Now the problem I´m having is that Project Professional tries to connect
directly to the Database Server, and of course fails.
If you find a solution to this, please let me know.

Thanks,

Fernando,

Thanks for the info, but I'm having some problems getting this to work in
your format below, can you please verify the format you are talking about:

http://domain:@myps.com/projectserver

Shouldn't a username and password in the URL read something like
username@domain?

Just curious the proper fomatting, I've tried a few variations with no joy.

Derek:
You are correct about the format, but it is very insecure to write
the username and the password in plain text in the URL.
insted if you just write http://domain:@myps.com/projectserver it will ask
for the username and password when needed.

Maybe the confusion is that I wrote domain, but actually I meant domain
without the .com extension. If you domain is mydomain.com, then just write
domain.
If that still no work, then try this http://:@myps.com/projectserver
Remember to make this URL "Trusted".

Good luck!,

About the problem with Project Professional conecting directly to the
database server I'm thinking to have the database duplicated in the
aplication server.
