Logo disappears on Mailmerge

I have an embedded picture in my Word document that disappears when I mailmerge. Using Word97. How can I cure this please

Are you merging to a new document, email or the printer?

Is the picture embedded, or is it linked? Where is the picture located: in the body of the document, header, footer,other?

Is this a form letter merge, catalog merge, or other?
