Logo resizing problems

Can anyone suggest a reason why I would be able to import a gif or jpeg into every program and resize it fine but have serious problems in FP? My logo, when I insert it or copy and paste it from any program looks horrible when I resize it. I have tried resizing in PSP by it still comes in FP dirty looking. Thanks for any help.

File Import it into FP Before you use it on a page
- FP is not an image editor and you should not resize images w/ FP

Thanks. I have done that - I guess the problem is with the logo. It loses resolution when it is resized in PSP even when I try all the resampling options. Itsjust so odd that it did fine in Pulisher. Now I have to decide between paying some one to recreate the logo in a smaller size or keeping my site in Publisher

It's possible that you were using a vector-based image in Publisher. Vector
images are not rasterized and resize without degradation in quality.

Vector images are "drawn" on the screen using a series of mathematica
algorithms. Therefore, when you resize it, the algorithms remain but simply
rescale appropriately. Rasterized images (like GIF, JPG, BMP, etc.) are
comprised of a series of pixels or "dots" drawn on the screen. (Actually a
pixel is more like a square.) When you resize a rasterized image, your
graphics program either has to remove pixels or add pixels to make the image
resize. This has the effect of blurring images when they are reduced in
size and adding jaggies to the image when it is increased in size.

No matter what... do not keep your site in Publisher! Why not recreate the
logo yourself?

I am working diligently to get my site redone in FP so that it is not in Publisher. I can't recreate the logo unfortunately

Thanks for the input.

If it's an image, in publisher select it and Edit Copy, then in an image editor you can usually use Edit paste to create a new image
and save as a .gif or .jpg
If it's not an image you will need a screen capture of the page w/ the logo and then edit the screen capture image saved in an image
editor
- you can use Shift+PrintScreen to get a screen capture into the windows clipboard
