to find this info
--open table in design view
--add a field of type number
--choose Long Interer in the bottom section of the table in design view
--press F1 while cursor is in the words Long Integer

It's a 4 byte field that can hold values from -2,147,483,648 to

I copied the values for Integer instead of Long Integer. Doug's reply has
the correct statistics. It would be quicker, easier and more accurate to
look it up yourself than asking here - assuming you have an access database
in front of you.
