Look in box freezes

After I open word and click on file-open. When I click
on the look in box arrow, it freezes for about 15
seconds, then it comes up. It does this with all the
office products. But it only does it the first time.
Later on if you have not closed the program yet and you
click on file-open and the look in arrow, it works fine.
It works fine until you close the program and then reopen
it and then it does it only the first time again. I am
wondering if anyone knows why this is happening and if
anyone knows how to fix. Thanks very much in advance for
any help

Check the folder in Windows Explorer. The usual cause is you have a shortcut
to an FTP site or some other illegal shortcut in the folder.
