Looking for Acccess Developer

RichM

Hello,

We are looking for an Access Developer for a small business. You must be in
the New York City area and willing to come in for an interview. I will check
this board every couple of days.

Thank you.

Rich,

Just a little friendly comment. By restricting yourself to having a
developer in person and not utilizing the power of the internet, you are in
fact overlooking a great number of talented developers!

Some food for thought,

Hi Daniel,

I understand what you mean and have done much of my business the way you
suggest. My experience, however, has not been terrific with developers, and
so unless I meet the individual in person, I feel at a loss to guage the
quality and integrity of the person. This database is a fundamental and
indispensable part of our business; the developer is a key person; and we
will have an ongoing relationship; and so I believe I must meet them once. If
I don't find someone this way then I will do it as you suggest. If you're a
developer I'd be happy to have a look at your web site and keep it on file in
case I do change my mind.

Thanks for your comments.

One piece of advice from someone who's more from the business side than from
the developer side, if they're a real developer, then you are asking for
someone who is going to spend several hundred dollars worth of their time on
a "interview".

I understand where you're coming from, but your wording / process may be
inadvertently be selecting for the opposite (not so good or not so smart)
type of person than you intend.
