Looking for books or resources.

Hi,

I am looking for a good book for project managers that covers in some detail
the how MS Project 2002 Pro works with Project Server. Specifically a book
geared not for system admins but for project managers.

I have my own set of best practices, which I am trying to enforce throughout
our project mgmt. team, but I am new to the server portion of this software
and feel there is functionality which would benefit our organization that we
are not aware of.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, but based on the description this book seems to focus more on
implementation rather than use.

Do you have this book?

Does it contain sections that are for users as opposed to admins?

Bill --

Our company publishes this book, so yes, I have this book. It is intended
for both administrators AND project managers, and Part IV of the book
focuses exclusively on the use of the software in a production environment.
I am co-authoring the 2003 version of the book, so I am more than familiar
with the content of the text. Thanks for asking.

Pat --

We're looking at early summer, but please do not quote us or hold us to that
date. Working with clients pays a lot better than writing a book. Thanks
for asking!

Thanks Dale for the update, and I certainly understand the need to keep food
on the table! Hope the writing going smoothly.

BTW, it would be nice if you guys could include a section on installing
Project Server on Small Business Server 2003. Apparently the installation
instructions supplied with PS don't work (at least not entirely) with SBS.
Despite that, some people have managed to do it, although AFAIK that
information (how they did it) is not in the public domain.

Thanks again, -Pat
