Hi,

I've got a split database used by 6 users. All works as it should. 5
of the users are using Access2000 and their own copy of the front
end. The 6th is using Access2007 and their own copy of the front end.

There are 3 tables still in the front end, not used for anything.
Kinda holdovers from developing that I'll delete eventually. One as
the version number on it, so I update that when needed, then copy the
new front end to everyone. So, basically, no changes are done to the
front end "data". It's all just form/query/report stuff.

Installed in December 2008, all the front ends were the same size...
13k.

All are basically the same...well, 13.5k, 14.3k, etc. Except for the
Access2007 front end. That one is now 145,750k.

First, what causes the FE to get larger when no data is being added/
deleted, etc?

And, Is it normal for Access2007 to bloat much more than Access2000?

Thanks,
me

Sometimes distributing a mde (or accDE for 2007) can help this case since
then all objects are in a compiled state.

Another thing to look into is any possiblity that the 2000 databases have
compact on close set, were as the 2007 one does not?

I as a general rule don't recommend compact on a close..but, that might be
the issue here....
