Looking for the best book....

Hello,
I am new to the VBA world and while I have figured out quite a bit just
scanning thru this forum, I am looking for a book to have on hand as a
learning and reference tool. I have Windows XP and Excel 97. If I
understand correctly, it sounds like what works in 97 won't necessarily
work in newer versions on Excel?
I've found several books for Excel 2000 and newer that look great but
not much in the Excel 97 department.
Any suggestions?

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!
Michelle

Debra Dalgleish has a big ole list of books at:

John Walkenbach's is a nice one to start with. John Green (and others) is nice,
too. See if you can find them in your local bookstore and you can choose what
one you like best.

John Walkenbach's book does distinguish between versions of excel. (and if you
ever plan on upgrading, you'll have the info available.)

I don't recall if John Green's book does that, but you can find out the next
time you're at the local bookstore????
