looking into a cell

i have a Jun-04 in cell A1

Is there a forulma that will look in cell A1 and return
JUNE?

if its Jul-03 it will return JULY

In other words... it will spell out the monuh

One way:

=A1

Format the cell with Format/Cells/Number/Custom mmmm

 

[vtisix]

=Upper(text(A1,"mmmm"))

This formula basically returns June and capitalizes it.
