Looking to properly install Windows Installer.

I have a new Gateway computer, Media 2005 Edition. Trying to use Office 2003
trial but it will not install. Message says that the Windows Installer is
not correctly installed. I can't seem to find it. I have determined that I
have Windows Installer 3.1 (KB893803) but have not found the exe. to try to
reinstall it. I am not a strong computer person. Is it possible to
reinstall. No CD's came with package.

installer 3.1 on a pent 111 800 with lots of ram and hd space. I got Office
pro 2003 Home Use Program. And it won't install. Every time I try I get a
message box telling me that "The installation package could not be opened

Installer package" Help me anyone

pro 2003 Home Use Program. And it won't install. Every time I try I get a
