Loop a presentation for a fixed period of time.

I want to run a presentation in a loop for 45 minutes prior to the start of
an event and then at a specific time automatically switch to a different set
of slides that will be advanced manually during the event. Is this possible?

While it won't move on automatically after 45 minutes it only requires a key
press and you mention that the rest of the presentations will be advanced
manually so I thought it would probably work for you.
