I do a web page that is cut and pasted from a Winword97
file. The Winword file is saved as a web page, then parts
are put into the web page.
Problem: In Internet Explorer some of the columns don't
display evenly, one column may be 3/4's of the screen
width, and the other 1/4. I've used the Netscape composer
and Netscape display the columns perfectly.
The table setup is: a single table at 90% of screen
width; a table with two columns @ 95% of parent table
width. Then a single table at 95% of the parent column.
I tried this in Front Page Express also. Even in Front
Page Express I can't seem to get the pasted material to
work as desired.
I have looked for page style and formatting things that
might cause the problem and can't find anything. I've even
used a raw text editor to look at the html info.
If I try to force column sizes by setting pixels, then
when I look at the page on another computer, with a
different screen resolution, the columns are screwed up
the opposite way. What is the trick for this????
P.S. My wife reports the the webmaster for her school's
webpage has the same formatting problems. 'Help'..
