Losing Background image with cut and paste

In powerpoint 2002 the background image disappears when a slide is cut and
pasted within the presentation also does when copy and paste slides into a
new presentation. The background image is not part of the master slide. I
am able to duplicate the slide any suggestions - the project needs the cut
and paste capabilities.

Choose the "keep source formatting" option after you paste the slide.
