Losing Entourage calendar items

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: pop I was working on my calendar setting up some May 2010 dates and I needed to refer to January and discovered Entourage is erasing previous months were of appts. events dates etc. from March 2010 back! How do I prevent it from erasing my calendar items, I want to preserve everything.
