Losing indents when copying tables

Hi - I have 3 tables in 3 separate Word 2003 documents. The tables all have
various indents as they were generated from MS Project. I have to copy all
three into one document. Wher I copy the tables they lose their indents. I've
tried everything that I can find and can't prevent this from happening. Does
anyone have any suggestions?

Have you tried any of the Paste Options? As you paste the tables, you should
see the Paste Options button. Click it and experiment with the options (Keep
Source Formatting for example).

Hi Stefan,

I've tried that with no luck. There's really not very many options on the
Paste Options button (Keep soure formatting, Match destination formatting and
keep text only). I've also tried the various options on the Settings button
on the Edit tab in Options, some of which I thought may be do the trick:

- Adjust sentence and word spacing automatically
- Adjust paragraph spacing on paste
- adjust table formatting and alignment on paste

None of them worked. Any further assistaance that you could provide would be
very much appreciated.

It seems as if Word cannot recreate the formatting of tables created in MS
Project, not even as direct formatting. If that is the case, your only
option might be to manually recreate the formatting in Word. Or perhaps you
could insert the tables as OLE objects.

We have been able to successfully create the tables in Word with the
indenting intact however, we lose the indenting when the table is pasted. I
just came on board and assumed responsibility for this process and am not
sure how they came up with this means of doing it but the process that we use
is as follows: We save the MS Project as an html file. We then open that html
file in Word and the table is formatted correctly. If I didn't have to paste
the three tables into one document I would be all set. It's when we paste the
tables that we lose the indenting. Any further suggestions that you may have
would be very much appreciated.

I believe that I may have just found a solution to my problem. Rather than
cut/pasting the tables, I did an insert - file and it appears to keep the
indenting. Thanks very much for you help!
