Excel 2000, Just in last two day i haved been losing the
information in my saved workbooks. I save file and can
close it and reopen the info is saved, but if i close
excel and reopen it the info i just saved is gone and it
is back to the info before i saved it. I have used this
program for over 3 years and never had a problem. Could
this be a virus?

Verify that you are opening the same file in the exact same location that you
saved the file in

I have been playing with it some more, double checked to
make sure I am opening and closing to the same location
(yes). After testing it some more i have found out that
I'am only losing the inform when the computer is shut off.
Example, open excel, open workbook, make changes, close
workbook, close excel. Reopen excel, reopen workbook, data
was saved. Shut down computer, open excel, open workbook,
changes are gone. Save workbook to new file name, new
filename will retain changes even after computer has been
shutdown and restarted but original will still not retain
any saved changes

I've never seen excel do this--but I have seen users (me!) save to a different
location by mistake, then open the earlier workbook.

If you put this in an unused cell:
=cell("filename",a1)

You'll see the path, workbook name and even worksheet name. Maybe you'll notice
that you're working on multiple files.
