Lost Attachments

Since switching to Windows XP I am increasingly unable to
send attachments to Outlook e-mails. Any that are in the
text (as opposed to appearing below a bar at the bottom of
the screen) either get lost in transit or converted to an
unreadable format (.dat). The attachments look and behave
fine in my Sent-box. I am using Office 2000 Premium and
Windows XP Home.

Help please!

Change your mail format to anything other than Rich Text and/or don't use
Microsoft Word as your editor.
