Lost contact database association

yesterday I transferred my outlook data (.pst) from my laptop to a new
desktop. On sending an email outlook could not find addressee. i went
to contacts and it brought up a window that had three contact database
choices...two were blank and one was my contacts. it said the contacts
needed to be associated. i looked in help, and was directed to go to
file-dta file managment-and choose wizard. unfortunately there is no
wizard button.

how do i associate my contact database so it opens on opening outlook.
i am using xp and outlook 2003.

thanks

Right-click on Contacts, choose Properties, then click the Outlook Address
Book tab. Check the "Show this folder as an e-mail Address Book" box.

thanks for the quick response. i've tried that but still doesn't show.
when i click on 'address book' button on menu it opens alert message
telling me it is not associated. then when i click okay a dialog
'address book' box opens with a dropdown list on top right. the drop
down shows three 'contact' files...the last being mine.
any other thoughts.

Thanks

Alan

Tried that...didn't work...

when i select the 'address book' icon on menu bar i get an alert box
telling me that my contacts aren't associated. on clicking ok, an
adress book dialog box opens with a drop down menu on the top right.
the menu drops down showing three 'contact' files, the last being the
one i want. can't figure this out.
any other thoughts?

thanks for the quick response.

thanks for your quick reply. i did check the box and restarted outlook
but it didn't work. my contacts are there when i click on navigation
bar but when i click address book button the alert says not associated
then bring up address book window. my contacts are the third 'contacts'
file down.

any other thoughts?

If this happened to me, I'd completely remove the Outlook Address Book
service from my profile, close and restart Outlook, and then add it in
again.
