Lost e-mail in Outbox

I was having a problem with my Outlook yesterday (Outlook 2003 with Exchange
Server 2003) and when I sent a particular message it was stuck in the Outbox.
I deleted my MAPI profile and recreated it and all is well now, but I lost
the message that was in my Outbox. Is there any way to get it back?

Thanks.

Were you using a PST file for delivery, or the Exchange mailbox? If the
latter, were you using cached mode in OL2003? When you deleted the profile,
you deleted the OST file you used in your old profile - so if you were not
connected to the Exchange server at the time but were working offline for
some reason, any unsync'd local data is gone. Since it sounds like you lost
only a single message, it would probably be easiest just to create it anew.

Next time this happens, don't delete the profile until you're sure you've
tried everything else first....

Thanks, Lanwench. I was in cached mode and I guess the e-mail is lost. I will recreate. It was only a hope to get it back.

Sorry about that. As mentioned, there are other things to try before using
the blunt-force approach of recreating the mail profile.
