Lost emails during detect and repair

I have MSOutlook Small business edition 2003 with Business Manager. I ran
detect and repair and clicked restore defaults. I lost all of my e-mails,
archives, sent items etc. I followed the advice of earlier posts by
searching for old pst files. I reloaded them and none of the available files
recovered my inbox. Are they lost forever or am I not doing something
correctly. Thank you.

You are not doing something correctly, search to include hidden, then open
any found within OL, excepting any archive.pst's
Any found will open as another set of Personal Folders, containing all the
default folders, then check via folder View

Thank you for your response. I did search in hidden folders and only found
the archive files, a contacts folder and an Outlook Internet Hotmail settings
file. I opened all three and none contain the lost inbox or sent folders.
Any suggestions?
